My grandfather and I were talking the other day, and he was saying what BS comparing the present "war" to the world wars was. You know in the last world war, pretty much the whole country was in on the war effort. If you were an able body man you would be in the service, if you were an able body female there was a good chance you would be buidling munitions etc.

There was food rationing, and my grandmother as a little girl would take turns manning the tower at her school to look for enemy planes. There was draft and tens of thousands would die in one battle.

If you think we are in WWIII you are either an idiot or need to read some history books, or maybe both.

During a world war the president doesn't come on TV and say go shopping

I agree, it's hilarious! What's even funnier is, you said it! I certainly didn't say that.

    Temporary loss of cabin pressure?

Well, in this case I would work with China, not Iran ;)

Do you agree that if one side breaks an agreement of not placing arms, then the other one can do the same? I hope, you do. So, why overreact? The whole business is built on these simple things.

$$$, that's the answer, we worked in North Korea too, so what? Now we signed the act against them. Nothing more than a business. Everyone is good at diffeent things, including nuclear power, arms, etc. As if US does not sell/sponsors its arms to their "friends".

We're you drinking when you posted this? :D

Well, several people here have indicated on several occassions that they support terrorists.

The war on terror makes you laugh because you think you are going to win.

Actually 92% of the American public was against entering the war in Europe during WWII

    Ignorance certainly is bliss....

Odd, FDR did. Gee, I guess you are right.

I'm not certain where your mind was going with your quote. That is why I asked for clarification.

I need to renew it this year. I've been to Italy (that is where most of my family lives), France, England, Scottland, St. Lucia, Germany, Ireland... Should I go on? I'm not sure what the relavance here is. I spent some of my university years in the UK back in the mid 90's. I'm a 2nd generation Italian. 95% of my customer base is overseas.

Until now, I had thought I made contact with just about everyone. I was wrong. Now I have finally made contact with a space alien. :D

You have to be the laziest SOB on this forum... once again, here I sit, doing more work for you.

    http://historytogo.utah.gov/utah_chapters/from_war_to_war/thewareffortathome.html

Aside form asking people to buy bonds, FDR enacted price controls, asked farmers to produce more, asked people to conserve... FDR asked more of Americans than Bush ever has in terms of sacrifice.

Either way, it is quite evident that the American economy has grown more under Bush than it ever did under Clinton, or FDR, combined!

Imagine if little whiners like yourself actually had to sacrifice. You might want to ask you grandfather about the depression prior to the war when you get a chance... That is unless he is a 60's generation hippie that's feeding you bs.

I'm gonna assume that is the case.

The US has a load of weapons based here in the UK, as well as the UK's own missiles etc. so, if anyone does attack it hopefully wont be us (unless they want retalliation).

He probably doesn't care about that, though. For ferret, it's always about degrading America, no matter what.
