Has anyone tried to disallow google adsbot that checks the page quality score? I am just wondering what would happen. Would all the keyword be ranked as Poor or Good? any idea what would happen?

Its a bad idea. Your page quality score will be ranked very low. Try it and you'll see.

    MicroMag have you tested this?

I imagine that's exactly what would happen but I don't have a spare site I dare to test it on, just wondering if you have some proof.

    Cheers

    Micromag,

Thanks for sharing that! I'll certainly avoid testing that in the future

We've done many experiments on the AdsBot to determine how it works. It is safe to say that adding a robots.txt file to disallow this bot will almost certainly hurt you.

In one recent experiment on a campaign containing 2,581 keywords, the original campaign had 240 keywords with a minimum bid of < $.30. After blocking the AdsBot, only 87 keywords had a minimum bid of < $.30. The vast majority of the keywords jumped to a min bid of > $1.00.

Our full experiment is detailed in the upcoming 2007 version of our paid search ebook which will be available in July. Please feel free to email me with comments or questions.
