Not if you buy on PR9 footer link on highly authoritative sites like LINUX. Matt Cutts is using those footer links as examples of paid links.
I would think it depends on; Google > Authoritative links > Quality of backlinks Ultimately, Google has to let PR points pass from whatever the web site/page is. They don't let pass PR points on certain authoritative sites unfortunately. Remember donation link page? If placed on a home page, I think few links would do it. But the more the better
I think alive and aviva directory spend so much to keep RP7 but failed, I think new directory would stay at PR6 for some time.
Yes it will take TIME to maintain what you have been given PR7, so that its not lost or wasted... thx malcolm
I'm with dubz, Nothing, Nada, ziltch, PR is either going to die a death or have its format changed. Takes one thing to take it away, Google getting it wrong that $$$, time and quality links were genuinely obtained.
I know where to get a backlink from sites that are listed on w3.org... does that help?? And with regards to how to get to PR7 for directories, only a few men can answer to that, no one else can, because quite frankly, not many people has ever reach PR7. So i rather not contribute and confuse. So if these few men are happy to reveal, I am all ears, other than that, I find it hard to accept any ideas. But if you ask, me the question how much would i spend on getting a PR 7 on my directories? My answer will be, whatever amount, as long as it is profitable to be PR 7. If it is a PR 7 but I am struggling to pay for the "PR support", then I rather be PR 6 and be able to make profits.
wow.... looks like many are not prepared to risk much to try for PR7. Does that mean that most are contented with PR6???
5K+ if i can get some permanent google juice I think the PR is worth the risk and for people asking about BWL, i can bet that Chris has spent much more than that
I totally agree with that. If PR 7 can be guaranteed in some way, and If it is profitable then I will pay what is needed for this. I also don't agree with google's policy of penalizing paid links. I can understand why it is doing so but I don't agree with this. I have a post here with my opinion on that. I think that this is another discussion topic though...
Pr 7 for a directory specially seems a bit tough these days as i personally think Google is having a strong check on the Directory sector and very careful too. Alive getting too many backlinks daily seems to be a question for google or more a mystery, definitely they would count those back links as PAID and bought Links and everyone knows what is Google doing about PAID links.... As far as getting a PR 7 is concerned i am sure Chris will be the best to ask about!
I think to get PR7 and above we have to work a lot ! Just hire an SEO Expert for just $1000 per month. He will get u there !
well, i guess nobody can guarantee if it will be profitable to get a PR7. You need to GET THERE first, then you will find out right? And of course, if its profitable everyone will do it. But my question is, how much wld u risk trying to get there knowing 1) u may not achieve it, 2) it may not be profitable even if you achieve it. Its these risks that makes this question interesting No way PR7 can be guaranteed o/w this is a redundant question almost. And regards to profitability, see above response
you are absolutely right! Actually many of our directories have one PR rank less i.e., Alive directory should be PR7 but now it is PR6 like that!
