Creating DP Trusted Directory Owners List - now based on survey

Malcolm, the survey page is not finished yet

Please wait till I get more DP directory owners, then everybody can take the survey.

The total number isn't even 100 yet by the way.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

 

I think it will be a good idea if you can Remove the Submit button for the time being or add a note that the list is not complete yet. So that everyone knows he/she needs to wait for a while to submit the vote.

Remember, the survey hasn't begun yet. So, I need to tell you again that the list is not a list of trusted Dp directory owners YET!

The list on the web page is now a list of candidate (as long as you are a DP directory owner and active in the forum, you can join it). Well, unless you are on QBC list already, then you may not get lots of positive resonses then.

Just yell at me, so I will include your name.

thank you I will add you also. It is and will never be the perfect list, but as a reference, you know. Just like we check on PR But hopefuly, the list is more reliable and useful than PR itself

Some folks are too sensitive to the order even though I have been telling that the list is not complete yet. It will not be a ranking list either...

 

I guess I am still not exactly clear what this list is for or what it means?

If I am curious about the 'reputation' of a member I could just look at their iTrader I thought that is what it was for? If you have lots of iTrader (and a good rating) from experienced members of the forum that should mean you are trustworthy?

Most of the dealings between these members happens outside of the iTrader system, and many of these members, myself included, have not participated in deals that result in iTrader

 

So the new list will help you decide but iTrader is not good enough?

I guess if the new list contains additional information then it might be helpful I just think, 1. The person creating and maintaining the list will have a lot of complaints and headaches because of it and 2. It probably won't be much more helpful than just looking at iTrader, it is hard enough to remember to complete an iTrader sometimes so are folks going to really go and write down a whole bunch of additional details regarding individual transactions?

I should say that I don't think it is a bad idea, I just don't think it will prove to be that helpful. Maybe folks are better off just going to somewhere like directorycritic which already lists most of the DP members directories and rate them there?

teamshop, I guess that makes sense if you want to comment on dealings outside of iTrader, but then with no proof or any kind or documentation (a thread reference) can't folks just abuse this 'new' system even more than they abuse iTrader already?

 

I do no necessarily disagree but one thing this forum is very good at is generating lists

 

Of course that is ANOTHER useful information we need to look at. But my attempt is more for the recognition of each DP directory owner from other directory owners.

I myself look at it and take it into consideration whenever I buy a link, but the list I'm making has a different perspective, which could be very useful.

Here is the major reason for it:

Assuming every survey result is genuine to help the list for its "reliability", the resource should be a good reference. iTrader can be given or exchange without considering those factors.

I understand that taking the survey itself seems so "heavy task", but please bear with me . Essentially, I'm asking everyone to help me create the list. And I will try my best to maintain that.

 

I think you could equate it to something like...

Pagerank was the standard for a long time but that didn't stop the progression to pagestrength. Wait a few months and the latest and greatest will be the new standard with which to judge a site.

No matter how many lists, either good or bad exist, some will take them to heart and some will never even look at them.

 

Candidate List Update

I got 115 DP directory owners now. Took some hours to get their directory URL's. I picked only one but if you want me to change, plz let me know.

I will include those directory URLs in survey, so people can see the owner name and his/her directory.

For example:

I am sure some people may not remember who runs which directories, so I decided to place a URL of his/her directory. Btw, I only picked one for each, guessing those are the "main" directories of theirs. Please let me know if you want me to correct the URL.

P.S. I couldn't get info for eXe's directory(ies), so please let me know if anybody knows one.

I'm accepting more owners. So please PM me if you are interested in The first survey begins soon, so please let me know ASAP.
