I've got a project that i'm finishing that will go international in the next few months. In your experience, which non u.s foreign markets are the most lucrative? We're thinking the spanish speaking market, asian markets, etc. I'm just looking for advice from those that have done it before.
I met a man on an airline that sold trash to china. He said it was very lucrative. I would check out china if I were you.
China is the market with capital M. The population is like 1,321,851,888 according to the estimations made in July.
hi mate, which markets are you currently in? out of personal experience 2 markets that a pretty similar is the U.S and U.K. first go into those two before going anywhere else.. then it depends on your product... though the asian / chinese market is very big i'm assuming their buying power is still not that strong yet... so if you have a product a bit pricey which possibly makes it a bit harder to sell i'd go after the western/north European countries... specially Scandinavians as they're always open to buying new bits.
It's more of a service than a product so really it comes down to native language of the markets we are targeting. The english speaking portion of the world will be taken care of by our initial release, but from there we are looking to translate and pursue any other markets where advertising dollars are strong. I have a feeling that the asian markets are going to be our best bet, and likely the most difficult to translate into.
It's not a product, just a service oriented web site. It's based on user submitted content and advertising dollars. I can give details after the official launch in about 10 days. I know it's difficult since i'm being so vague, but I really can't go into any more detail than that yet . It's something that should appeal to a wide audience regardless of the language. Really we are just trying to figure out which languages to target first after english of course.
Hello, The spanish is growing in USA, there are around 30 millons or more peoeple, plus you have all South America speaking spanish (Brazil no ), plus Spain...
The spanish market is definitely one we will target. I'm moving to Costa Rica sometime next year so that's a given
As far as internet traffic, I see a lot of my translated pages getting hits for China, and Japan. I would stay with targeting a country that is more democratic, like Japan, S. Korea. and such. As Far as traffic, India is a huge market and they are sucking up everything on the web that is Entertainment. But, do the majority have the money to purchase,or is the population so large that you can do it on high volume, small margin?
I definitely want to stay away from the communist countries as I refuse to censor anything I put on the internet.
Hello, my feeling: China is very good for manufactured products, but India is much more better for services. Have a look here on DP, how many Indian webmasters ? How many chinese ? Now, lets talk about money: who will be able to pay your services ? I would suggest to go for India and rich european coutries like Germany, France, Spain. Regards Thibaut
