I have the MacBook and I haven't used Mac OS X so far. I have been running windows all along without any glitch.

Thanks, but those are the US price. The price in INR is given in the Apple Asia Store. Are you buying the MacBook(Pro?) from there? If so, can you plz let me know that price?
Thanks a lot for that link. But that further increased my confusion. I think the best thing to do is to visit one or two showrooms and check the configs and price.

I think the ThinkPad R60 provided by Rohit is too low in config compared to the price.

Thanks a lot for the replies :)

Just like me :). I made the 40K by my own work. And I'm borrowing the rest from my parents.

MacBook can have upto 2GB. Do we really need that much memory?

One day I too will be a proud owner of one :)

    Yea 2GB is enough.
    I don't think it's needed to have a 15" screen or even a 17" one since it's a LAPTOP.13" sounds pretty good to me.

The best way to know this would be to go to a site like dell.com . Choose a particular notebook and customize it .

You would get to know what suits you pretty well .

I would personally suggest a 13 inch screen. I earlier had a VAIO with 15.4" inch widescreen. After I bought 13.3: inch widescreen MacBook, the VAIO I had looks ugly.

Laptop has to be small - 13'' are enough. If you need big screen, buy plasma TV :p

Pricey! Have a look at the macbook (black) it's cheaper with almost simlar specs, what you can do is upgrade the RAM and still save $$$ :p I think the pro kind of looks ugly lol

My personal choice is Toshiba. It may be somewhat expensive but it's top of the line and high quality notebooks. I've never really had any problem with mine. ;)

I have finally made up my mind to wait for my next months adsense cheque and go for a MacBook :). Let me if I can get any of my friends in US to buy one from there. Thanks a lot for all the comments :)

BTW, just for my information can anyone tell me which one of Turion 64 x 2 and Core2 Duo is better?
