    I would ask...

    - What battery life to you want
    - How much space?
    - Speed?

    Before deciding ;)

Oh God! You have confused me. This is the first time, I'm going to buy a laptop. And I know nothing about it. Hence what I was asking was which company to go for.

You need to know specs.. that my first mistake with the first laptop I bought.. so I had to get a second one :p

Okay, is this easier? Why do you need a laptop?

I would go for macbooks for their long battery life and excellence for graphics design..

Actually, it is not for me. But my brother. We do part time graphic and web development. Infact he designs sites and I develop them. He is in hostel now and so the work is suffering. So he wants to buy one.

    MacBooks cost about INR 66000.

BTW, Congrats on crossing 11K posts :). You are really fast.

    Too expensive then? :p

What about DELL, those are cheap! And I'm sure you can design sites in them and such.

My tip: Do not get a toshiba (fanning problems) plus they cost.. same or more than macbooks anyways

I got one of the fastest laptops available for a little under $2,000. The battery life dies after an hour, so I use it for a desktop with a little mobility.

Most everywhere I go has an outlet so no problems yet. I think I may have to upgrade the battery soon :)

Love it too. Just tested out the new HDTV tuner....hehehe...it's such a great picture...same as DVD.

Just loaded my music on it now...and listening to it...No hiccups whatsoever....gotta love Vista...it's so easy to use.

    Whoo hoo.

Seriously, macbook's are cheap for what you're getting. Which color are you getting Richie? I got the black one for a little over $200 more :p (than the white one) but it looks pretty!

Plus: it is SUPER FAST! 5 - 10 seconds start up time!
