I lunched my site in the end of January,2007. I've been working hard and the site got PR4 last Google PR update. I am some scared because all PR prediction tools showed pr2-3. My question: what should I do to support my current PR? Can my PR was given mistakenly? The bad thing is that I have no much time now to work with my site. I am relatively new in web. I started one year ago with creating my site and should learn more.
First of all the PR prediction tools are not accurate. To maintain or even increase your PR: 1. Submit to directories 2. Exchange links with related sites (PR3, 4+) 3. Buy links from related sites (PR4,5+)
4.Creat an unique content 5.SMO - use Social Media Sites to promote and optimize your site 6.Try to gain natural links from related blogs. 7. Do not be obsessed with PR AND DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with Exchanging links!
Thank you. 1.I have submitted my site up to 1000 directories manually already. But I received only about 100 confirmation email. Some directories approve the site but don't notify. Others didn't include even if i put reciprocal links to them. 2. I exchanged links with related sites. It takes much time. I have not one now. 3.I wary to buy links as well. It can give advantage only for some time. Then I should to buy links continuously
The bottom line of maintaining or increasing your PR is to provide content that people will link to you - Link Bait. Try to think of what will make the readers link back to you..
write content and keep building backlinks - my personal belief is that directories are less effective that sites from your same niche or a closer one.
The key is to update with good original content. The next point is to keep building your back links. Having PR for your site is really only important to you if you plan to sell links or you are just looking to sell your site. The more important thing should be getting traffic and that comes from advertising on good related niche sites and from adding new original content as often as possible.
If you just want to keep your PR, do the exact same things you were doing when you launched the site, i.e. linkbacks, new content, check if those sites with which you exchanged links have loss PR or not, do some more link exchange and if you are really good in writing, then linkbait is what you should concentrate at.
As some of the others have mentioned, the pr prediction tools are not accurate. The best way to keep your current pr (or higher) is: 1. Links, Links, Links (high pr links and relevant links are best) 2. Content, content, content
