I registered my domain 3yrs ago and suddenly somehow i just left it without renewing after expiry. Only after 2 months after expiry i realized about this and quickly re-registered the domain. Does this mean that age value of domain gone ? 3yrs ago my domain was indexed in google and now its gone until i made it reappear. In terms of SEO how much does this hurt?
NO. Why would it? A domain having only one, or the original owner is good, and you are still the original owner. "Who is" is only as good as the data base it is drawing from. I have domains form 1997, but for the average person to look it up, they come back all the time saying, "It say's 2006". Well in 1997 there were only a registrar or two. Check those databases, or use Archive.org. A domain should stand on it's own merits. Age is a determining factor, so you can't claim the length of it's indexing as a sell point, unfortunately, because there was a hiccup.
Does your site have any content, or is it keeping update? If yes, don't be worry, everything would be back
no i just had only domain. First i hosted some pages and later i pulled off my site pages. It was just a domain until now. I am just worried as if domain has lost its age value because of this small break.
Yeah I think it still carries over, I bought a domain from someone who had a crappy site with no traffic, I had it for like 2 weeks and the thing went up to a PR 3.
