I bet that some of the people telling that they was click bombed got banned because they themself click bombed somebody else.
I am afraid of click bombing also and from several answers in this thread looks like Clickbombing is real and notifying google during the click bombing will help alot.
I was victim of click bombing today and my AdSense account almost got banned! Its so sad that a DP member got pissed at me and that was the way he revenged me ... It almost costed me $400 (the accumulated money in my AdSense account) and I almost got banned! So sad ... Now we have to figure out how to protect ourselves against such threats .. this should be considered as Cyber Terrorism!!! WTF! Cheers, Venetsian
actually adlogger does not count mouse over as cliks, the only thing it counts wrong is happening when your mouse is over the ads and you refresh the page. AdLogger is just a solutions, every small time php programer could implement such a little application that gets your IP Adress, stores it in a database, and creates a java zone over the ads.
I wouldn't be so harsh on the guy who started the thread, although the "threat" was kinda funny. We seem to have so much faith in Google's records that it would be easy to be skeptical that one can be click-bombed and Googgle not know it
Click bombing is real but it's a rare occasion when you can piss someone off so much they'll dedicated a good deal of their day or days to destroying your income. So the lesson of the day is: DON'T piss people off, or if you do, don't have your Adsense sites in your forum signature.
i must agree, i heard older versions of adlogger had issues with mouse over logging, but i personally never used them, but i think they fixed it if it ever was an issue. I also agree that anyone with a little big of programming knowledge could create a similar system. I personally have been planning on making one for my sites, but havent got around to it yet. Just a little PHP/Javascript/AJAX, not all that hard.
The biggest problem with Adlogger is that its users don't read the fine print, and believe they have become essentially bulletproof after installing it. It's not Adlogger's fault, of course, but they COULD make it much clearer that their software a) doesn't measure EXACT numbers; and b) isn't a cure-all for sabotage.
About a year or so back when i use to run and be somewhat happy with adsense, i got clickbombed. my site was relatively small, and i made a thread about the img hosting services on a forum, i guess some users considered it spam although it was oked through a mod and one day i had like 300 click as compared to about 8, and hardly a change in revenue, next day.. banned.
well keep i touch with this thread someone might reply saying that he was click bombed and eventually banned
I can actually prove that you can get you account shut down due clickbombing. A friend of mine and me wanted to test this theory a while back, and since he where starting up a new company and closing down the old one, we thought we could test on the adsense account for the old company. This was an old adsense account, that paid out more than $1000 a month, for a periode over a year or something. It took four days after we started testing, until it was closed. The we send two mail noticing them about the usual activities, before it was closed. After it was closed, we sent another mail, but never got any response. We never talked about our little project in public, so they couldn't have known about it from somewhere else. So yes, clickboming is'nt a myth. But don't worry, I've been clickbombed twice and it actually helped to mail Google, even tought it didn't when we tested it on the old companies account.
The question that begs to be asked here is, were you using his i.p.'s or doing it from somewhere else?
I'm suspecting 70 fraudulent clicks from 1 IP, is it so bad??? I contacted AdSense and installed adlogger, better than nothing
