Well that's nice what "you" wouldn't do; but most people who work minimum wage jobs are school kids. Secondly, no one forces anyone to get a minimum wage job. You have the choice of where to work. You also have the choice to stay in school, get an education, and get past a $5/hour job. If you failed to do that, it was through mistakes of your own and while I feel sorry for you, that's not really my responsibility. If someone wants to give you money on their own; more power to them. Finally, I don't believe the wage hike has gone through has it? the marketplace has actually taken over on its own. Even McDonald's entry level jobs around here paid $7/hour and if you work nights its up to $8/hour. Congressional intervention is barely even necessary (if at all).
The CIA World Factbook says that Australia has the second highest poverty rate in the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development.
I don't see it here: http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/eco_pop_bel_pov_lin_percap-below-poverty-line-per-capita CIA factbook says the data is NA? https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/as.html#Econ
I would think the reliance on Mexican workers in many US sectors might dispute you on that one! As for the US being the driving force of the world economy - this relies on one thing and one thing only - that the price of a barrel of oil is tied to the US Dollar - thats the real reason the US went into Iraq - its also what allows the US to run a massive trade imbalance http://www.article-gems.com/Article/What-is-the-Iraq-War-really-about-/55 you better start worrying what you are going to use to pay the Chinese and all the others you have a trade deficit with when that comes around.
"many sectors" huh? While that is a problem, the sector worst affected by illegal immigraants is agriculture. They make up about 30% of the workforce there. I don't think that's really "reliance" as you'd like to think about it. pumping up your own site here. That's a credible discussion point Heh! You brought up the CIA. Not me. And then you mock them a post later. That's another interesting discussion point
pumping my own article - its a different thing - read it you might find I'm actually for the war in Iraq but not for the supposed reasons given - muslim terrorists and all that crap. Read it and then tell me what you think. I also think the 3,000 US dead is nothing (no offense to hard working soldiers here I respect them immensely, but they are pawns for richer mens games), the US could lose 10,000 a year for a hundred years and not even blink, its the money its costing which is more of a worry. Sorry to burst the terrorists bubble here but they are wasting their time blowing up US soldiers, they need to be attacking the oil, not people.
You're correct; it must've been a different factbook. However, here are some other sources: www.epinet.org/books/swa2004/news/swafacts_international.pdf http://www.abc.net.au/pm/content/2005/s1314534.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poverty_in_Australia
Whoa, time out. What reality are we talking about here? Just so I know which particular set of myths to laugh at. Wait a minute..... .... .... ... ... ... Okay, popcorn is done, please continue.
safer society for everyone? you arn't worried about the safety of kids who get locked up with sex predators for having a bit of weed I find it funny that you don't consider locking people in cages a negative side effect, or the billions spent on it also a negative side effect and we have those effects at present
are you actually going to contribute something? You know I always read that florida has like, the worst education system, I didn't really think anything of it. Now that I live here I have discussed things with others from florida online, boy, they should get on fixing those schools.
Sure. But I'm not going to spoon feed it to you. Here's a hint. You can find supporting evidence for just about any belief system is you look hard enough.
8<---snips troll line--->8 I wish it was that easy to make a few bucks. But so far, I really can't see where I've agreed with Lorien. I noticed his location just the other day. I do think it's funny when people from one place pick on another place. It could be France, Poland, China, doesn't matter. As long as it doesn't agree with what they, the Picker's are familiar with, or comfortable with, or agree with, then the Pickee's are either uncultured, unsmart, unworthy, uncool, or unhuman. In this thread it's all about Americans. <shrug> Go ahead. Spout off. I think it's funny. Because everything you read via any media outlet is suspect, I don't care where it's from. It's all controlled by the Bankers of Zurich. Now dance.
Dude, I'm the chillingest Joe Cool that ever graced a porch swing. I'm the one laughing here. For I take nothing serious. I've seen the elephant. It was a mouse with a thyroid condition.
I dont see much difference in the level of sophistication between the shit for brains from Manchester in Marbella for the weekend and the redneck from Kansas in Cancun. "Mate, lets get pissed"/"Dude!Cheap tequila"
Americans do have a false reality. We're too busy patting ourselves on the back for being number one, but we do nothing to keep up that status.
