I recently signup for a secured account and attached it to my debt card/virtual US bank account, received the microdeposits and I am ready to go. Before I start and wanted to know of any feedback anyone has on this service -- are they reliable -- I know people have to register which is kind of a pain but anything else?
I have read some thing about them on another board which wasnt that good where I read good things about them on another board, so I think it is something you have to try to find out. Be carefull, maybe just put a few transactions throught them and then see how things work.
I'm also thinking of funding my AlertPay account with a credit card. Let's see what others have to say. I haven't personally used them to accept payments yet either.
Unfortunately you can only withdraw to a bank account if you are in the US, otherwise I think check is the only other option. I had to signup a second time using a US address to add my US debit card/virtual bank account.
Has some of you already made a quick search on google or any other engine to see what ppl are saying about them ? Have you checked for how long this company exists and who is behind it ? If you say no to both question then better do it, since I believe that this is the first step to do before you put your hard earned money in the hands of strangers :0)
I do not recommend signup or using AlertPay. I signed up a few weeks ago and asked about becoming verified as they only allow very small files be uploaded. After dithering down the ID and Utility Bill they told me it could not be read BUT that verification was NOT necessary for withdrawing funds. After selling something I logged on to transfer funds and now they state you MUST BE VERIFIED to withdraw funds. I cannot refund the money to the client and cannot get it the size they want it.
The point is they, just like PayPal and others cannot be trusted. They make statements of fact which they later do not support, then hold on to your money. I have instructed my client to charge it back since I cannot refund the money. I will start using Google checkout instead.
AlertPay has had its issues. They take all kinds of merchants in all types of industries, including those PayPal & other ewallets do not. In the long run, it's kinda scary because they could lose their acquiring ability in which case you can kiss your $ good bye. It's happened before with lots of 3rd party processors.
Yea these guys are crooks DON'T USE ALERTPAY-- I had a verified bank account and everything. My clients are charging back their purchases since I am now set up with Google checkout.
