What do you think of the fact that Microsoft Window's dominates the computers and that if you want to go on the computer, chances are you'll need windows for it? I think this is kindof stupid because lets say I was upset with Window's and wanted to move to Linux. Then I would have to go to specially designed linux programs and wouldn't be able to use all the mainstream programs... What are your opinions?
yes. windows does dominate the computer world. actually microsoft does. but it's what everyone uses and would take a really good OS for everyone to switch over. people are used to windows and most people wouldnt want to change to a different OS just because theyve had windows since they started using computers
Yea, thats what I mean. We are like hooked onto windows, even though lots of people say its not a good OS. I don't get why though....
dell is now selling ubuntu linux systems which is a great start. im tired of windows, but i have to run it to support my clients.
Strongly disaree with that statement. Apple = Google. They're the brains and the innovations. Microsoft can be compared...to the north korean government. Microsoft and Google are very very different.
i only agree that Microsoft computer world = Google internet because microsoft is massive and dominates personal computers and google dominates the internet. but yes, apple is the brains and the innovators, although i hate apple. lol
Just because: 1) It is a really good OS. 2) The hype & bad publicity that surrounds the products these days gets Windows even more customers.
well bill gates is also a mojor factor who brings some cutomers to microsoft he is icon for microsoft as he is the richest in the world
Microsoft's contribution to modern day computing is more than that of Google. It is MS Windows that made computers easy to use for the gereral user and that is how Gates became the richest man in the world. He fully deserves what he has got. Windows is full of bugs, but it still remains the favorite OS of the world. If Google vanishes, internet and surfing may get affected. If MS vanishes, entire computing industry would be in doldrums.
a lot of corperate programs are designed for windows only though, thats one of microsofts bigest markets, if not its biggest market
Well, Vista is 50 000 000 lines of codes (xp was 40) There is no way to get it "bug free" when it rund third party softwares. I don' t know if windows and office are bad or good, but they do what I want . Could we consider that windows is all over because it s the simpliest system for users? See internet explorer , It starts having problem with firefox which now owes more than 20% of the market. So...whatever if windows is good or bad, it defines the market and you can get support when you have a bug, all over the web and if one day it really gets bad, it will happen what is happening to internet explorer, loose customers. Don t you think so?
From my personal experiences I wouldn't go so far to say really good , good perhaps. I woke up today, booted my LT running XP and 5 programs absolutely vanished! Strangest damn thing I've ever seen. That to me is not "really good"
Man you need to check your computer history. It was Xerox that made the GUI not Microsoft. They stoled the GUI from Apple who got it from Xerox. If Microsoft vanishes another company will take it's place.
