    Hmmm, ok.

The most intelligent creature in the world is human. Have you ever wonder how did this 'most intelligent creature' came into existence? m' damn sure no human has created himself. did any? Do we know when will we die? Just answer these questions and you'll find the proof yourself

    Cheers!

Asking for proof of the non-existence of something is idiotic.

The evidence for the existence of god is the same as the evidence for the existence of cheese-eating-invisible-omnipresent-mysterious-elephants.

Bow down to the mighty invisible elephant.

I guess you can conclude there must be a god. MUAHHAHAHHAH!"!!

You have no other option but to believe in a god, you were indoctrinated as a child. You have my sympathies.

Theres no logic in believing in a god because 'god works in mysterious ways'.

    Lets start a poll

    i support mistermix.

in fact this also has to do with intelligence. there was a big discussion on digg about it not long ago. the less intelligent people spend more time having faith and believing in god vs the more intelligent ones.

and before you start i am not saying that everyone who believes in god is dumb. but there is a link to belief rates and IQ

I dont mind you being a god fearing individual. its when you decide that i should be that irritates me

Actually I was brought up in a religious household and was actually a 'believer' as a child.

But now I am older and able to think for myself.

So, it worked on us weak minded fools, but the indoctrination couldn't control your all powerful will? I wonder, if you might amuse us with your amazing powers... what happened in your life that made you suddenly "stop" believing in God, and start denying His existance? I remember as a teen rebelling against my very strict parents and not wanting to believe in God because it restricted my fun. But I'm older now and realize that it was just my selfish childishness that made me want to deny and find every exuse not to believe in God. Now I realize I will always believe, but that I don't have to run my life the same way as my parents. Once I seperated the two entities (God and strict boring parents) it was much easier to see why I had chosen to rebel against God.

When I was a little boy I used to believe what the grown ups around me said. But then I grew up and progressed, developed and educated myself.

Rebellion, as you put it, has nothing to do with it.

Well, I wonder what particular type of education taught you that God doesn't exist? Oh, I'm sorry, that you used to "teach yourself".

We evolved plain and simple. We were at the right place at the right time to become higher in the food chain. Once we started eating meat the hormone levels rose and our brains developed faster than that of other primates. It could just as easily be chimps talking on this discussion forum right now had things gone slightly different.

As for the belief in god, human minds are pre-dispositioned to believe in such silly things. Perhaps it is because we were so isolated from one another early in evolution. For whatever reason, almost every human culture has believed in gods as a way to describe things we don't understand at the time.

How does the sun rise and set? Oh, it must be a god in a chariot taking it across the sky. God is silly and so is the belief in one. Hopefully one day more people realize that and start being kind to each other because they want to, not for fear of a great being in the sky becoming upset with them. Until that time, persecution and oppression will rule the world. Thanks religion!!!

No no no no. You don't understand, I was telling the truth, that HE DOES EXIST.

That was the worst example of God not existing. No where, does it say that, nor does anyone think that.

Usually, when you are a small kid, your main influence comes from your parents, friends and close people that surround you ASWELL as society in general. It is without a doubt most of the kids will follow one another's influential activities, way of speech, hobbies and so on.
If you were raised to believe in god, that is ok if you accepted it being a child.
But people grow as mistermix said, people read, learn, see and feel - they experience more in life as it progresses.
Then we get to a stage when we are old enough to ask ourselves a few basic questions.
"Why do i actually believe in god (if i do) ?" "what is god for me ?" "why so many people believe in god ?" and so forth.
For me it is simply ABSURD to believe and give FAITH to an entity or what-the-heck-ever without even knowing the what, when, how, and who.
I simply CANNOT blind myself and accept it AS IS (because i was raised like that or because i had a great life experience that led me to believe or any other scenario).

We now live in a different world, we are much more developed than we were before but we still have unlimited questions that we cannot answer by simple logic and science - because we just can't right now. THAT's IT!
Instead, people lead this "can't" to "There must be an explanation! God is the explanation!".

In my opinion, people who have a strong belief in god and pray and all that stuff - they have something to grab to when in trouble, they have a place (a church, a synagogue etc) to talk about their problems, they have someone to scream to when in fear.
People MADE god from their imagination and foolishness to guide themselves in difficult times, as it was too hard for them to handle.

Well guess what, it's tough luck. IMO, those who believe are weak mentally to accept that that's-that. until we figure something beyond, that's how it is.

I was never raised to believe in god, although my dad did and wanted to influence me. I have always tried to think rationally and i got to the point when i was very young and told myself "This is all bullshit.".

    And that's that.

The Bible says that the first men KNEW God.

Unfortunately, people are too stupid to think that there is such a thing that could exist, infinetly.
