With my wife and I expecting a baby this fall, I am starting to look for some security options (for when we need a babysitter, etc)...and I was thinking about getting a wireless webcam or something of the sort...does anyone use one of these and have a recommendation? Thanks.
I think that is a little bit of an invasion. If you letting the person watch your kids, do you not trust them in the first place? IMO... Untill you have any reason to, don't spy on the person.
Its not spying if its my stuff...besides, there are other reasons as well. Internet cams can be seen throughout the world, so if my wife and I go on vacation, we could log onto the IP to make sure everything at the house is ok...
I think that's a cool idea d16man. Get an IP camera as watch your kid where ever you can access the internet. --Joe
Using an internet wireless camera is a good idea. When buying one, check the various brands which have various advantages as far as the technical features are concerned. Dont just go for any wireless camera just because it sounds cheap etc.
2 words: British Nanny getting a cam like that would be cool in and of itself! but def. a good idea for this purpose.

thanks brown! I will check that out....what I have noticed is that most of the ones under 100$ seem really cheap and don't work well according to user reviews, but this one looks pretty solid!
I was thinking the same thing, must be much cheaper ones but in the case of an item like this, the old adage is true → you get what you pay for. I learned the hard way with cheap mp3 players...should have just saved for an apple pod. this cam though, I bet she lasts a long time and delivers great performance...most definitely a good picture I surmise. if either of you wind up geting this one report back!
