Then there must be a first person who brought up his child telling about God.He was intelligent or cave man into marijuana!
Same as the Tooth Fairy, Santa, the Easter Bunny, and all their respective cronies. Tell the kids a story to scare them, put them to sleep, pacify them, or make them do what you want them to do. Some of us catch on to it by ourselves, some of us have parents that tell us the horrible truth, and some of us never find out. It's all good fun until somebody gets hurt.
Well, thinking is the ultimate result of 'perception' and 'perception' comes from 'observation' and 'association of information'. A concept is developed within a thinking when the association of information repetedly happens to occur and the ultimate outcomes are always similar or nearly similar. Let's take the eample 'how a child learns to speak'. a child learns to speak only when he has enough words to speak, and he get that enough vocabulary from his surroundings including his physical, social and cultural environment. Similarly the concept of 'God' comes in an individual's mind from the practices he observes from his surroundings. Well, it depends on the circumstances, i.e. the physical and social environment, individual's thinking etc. But categorizing the situations, it can have two reasons. 1- Rediscovering ones own self: This is actually a special case, where by one is lead to believe the devine power, by using his own perception. He doesn't only explore the outer side of the word but also some abstract concepts. this is actually the meta physical aspect. One when sees the regulations in the nature, the incidents etc all make him to believe that there's some external force regulating , monitoring and managing all the operations of this universe. for example growth of a plant out of a seed, flow of rivers, the regulations in days, nigths and seasons etc. 2- Absence of his own perception: this is the case when an individual constructs a belief on the basis of 'what his fellows are doing' like he himself doesn't know, but since his parents, and other fellows have the same concept so he simply follows them. In this case the individual actualy doesn't know about the devine powers himself, the only thing he knows is that it's the practice within his social or cultural environment so he does the same. Though the presentation of the concept of God is different in different religions, but i think the pure concept of existence of God is same in all religions. Regards,
This is a really good question. I think the phenomenon would have occurred very early on in human evolution, while we were living in caves and playing with fire. It could have been similar to how African tribes relate to 'god' and other imaginary higher powers today. 'God' is used to explain things like rain, wind, day and night, a good crop compared to a bad crop. When Humans became intelligent enough to question the reason behind things such as (weather, death, purpose) the best and most 'natural' theory would have been GOD. MUAHHAHUAHAH!! Fortunately humans have moved on over thousands of years, the God theory is just a set of watered down general values and a nice club to belong to.
People actually saw things of God and talked to God and maybe that got the idea into their head. hmmmmm...
The only thing wrong with you statement is that God is real, unlike the Tooth Fairy, Santa, and the Easter Bunny.
The only thing wrong with your statement is that God is not real, just like the Tooth Fairy, Santa, and the Easter Bunny.
it's simple. People 1000's of years ago were idiots. They needed answers but lacked the intelligence to find them, So they invented the magic man in the sky. Sadly the religious believers today aren't blessed with the idiocy that allowed ancient man to get away with such ridiculous ideas.... Or are they?
Took the words out of my mouth there. God is a simple explanation to the unexplained. It was, is and will be very tough for a human being to not understand how a certain thing works, or to explain how it works. God was the ultimate creation to things that were simply unexplainable, and it passed on and on until this day. And religion STILL exists in full power, all over the world, because we will always have things that we cannot explain. God is the so called explanation.
It came into thinking through people who witnessed Jesus and his miracles. It was no fluke, merely a matter of time before people realized, and began to follow such unnatural events.
It was designed into our conciousness by God Himself, and the earth and all it's wonders are the evidence to reinforce it. And, less importantly, it is impossible to explain away the existance of some sort of "God" through our own logic that we rely upon to determine what is reality. Even the people who say they don't believe in God, really do know deep inside that He's real. Otherwise they wouldn't throw such a fit about it, they would just brush it aside like the tooth fairy. How many debates about whether or not the tooth fairy exists do you see non tooth fairy believers getting all pissy?
There would be a lot of people getting all pissy if there were millions of adults hoarding money and opressing people in the name of the tooth fairy.
