Right i have the domain chessmanual.com, I know nothing about chess So im thinking about an auto blog the marketing in on Yahoo Answers and via Google. Good Idea? Thing is i have no idea how to set up an auto blog. Pointers please? Cheers!
Nice domain. I like it (and I like playing chess). I don't know how to set up an auto blog, but I believe you can find someone here on the forums who will make it for you. Just try posting somewhere in the Buy, Sell or Trade section.
why dont u visit some game providing websites which can provide you code and you can install it in your website and you can have site of chess, i will surley join your site as i like playing chess too.
ChessManual.com shall be a site with chess rules = chess manual - a complete guide on how to play chess. That shall be the major content of the site in my opinion, as of it's name. Another great idea would be selling books or ebooks with chess rules. But of course it wouldn't be bad to add a kind of "play chess online" application or perhaps just add links to sites where you can play free chess online - e.g. Yahoo Chess. Good luck with the domain!
Yea if you did this 1) chess rules and strategies 2) chess forum 3) selling a chess ebook you could have a chess player write 4) Maybe add a multiplayer chess game? Just ideas... I think the 4th one would be pretty cool though Thanks Mike
I agree with dopiitv... definately numbers 1), 2) and 4). the multiplayer chess game will be expensive to build from scratch though.
Cheers guys! thats given me a big pointer! How would i market it? I know nothing about chess. I would suppose SEO work would bring most the traffic?
SEO and maybe findingsome chess forums, chess magazines if those exsist lol and if you have enough money try to sponosor some chess events like chess tournaments etc.
Best way to start off the site would be to just create an actual chess manual with instructions and guidelines (you can get this written by someone who is experienced). Then monetize your site via adsense and affiliate links. You can also promote it via social bookmarking sites and link exchange with similar sites. After finishing the first stages of your site, you can expand your site by adding a community (like someone said: a forum) and then to more chess related articles and news. It's a good memorable domain and high potential
You should start reading some chess books or manuals and might as well learn chess yourself It will be mush easy to manage the site in that case.
