Hi everyone I am considering adding a list of Directories to Best Web Directory that are offering alternate payment method to their submitters. I will be looking around and will be adding directories to my list with proper information. If you know about any such directory, help me build this list. Currently I am adding this to my blog (I updated everything yesterday) but soon it will be available from main page. We all know that PayPal is currently leading in Directory Market and almost each & every directory have PayPal as an option. Infect most of them have PayPal as the only choice. But it’s better to have a backup available to you as well as to your submitter. I am sure it will add value to your directory and will be a helpful tool for submitters as well. To get into that list, the only requirement is that you must have clearly stated your options on Submit page (or in guidelines). That is, submitter must know before he submits to directory. e.g. see this Submit Page I am building this list HERE. Once completed, I will make it available from my home page. So, help me build this list. Just mention the directory URL in this thread & I will add the rest of info myself. (Or you can give some details if you want to ) PS. It's my 1K post. You have no idea how many coders I have asked for a quote on that, none of them knew if they could get it to work, if you plan on selling that mod, please let me know.
We now only accept paypal, but if you have not a paypal account, you can pay by credit card, I think most business people would have a CC
Why not, infact its always best to have more and more payment options since in a world of Directories where PayPal is the leading payment option for people, yet many people fail to submit there websites as they cannot have a Paypal id since there country does not support it, i will always appreciate any directory doing that.
i have added e-gold and moneybookers to Quality Web Directory and am in the process of adding google checkout although i have never had a sale with e-gold or mb it is nice to have the option for your submitters as more and more people get fed up with paypal
I am not sure about Google checkout because, as far as I know, it does not offer wider coverage than PayPal, but I suppose it is good to have it as an extra. I think you would be better off having 2CO or Moneybookers instead of G checkout
Well, G Checkout is another good option to add. I am waiting for the day when G will start accepting sellers from other countries. Well, You are right. PayPal does have an option to accept CC with business account and that works fine for most of people. BUT just to clear the point, even if you are accepting CC with PayPal, Not Everyone can pay you. The reason is, PayPal is limited to certain countries even with its CC option. But, this thread is not about how PayPal is operating but I want to know about Directories that have other options for the submitters. I know I am missing a lot and that's where I need your help. If you know about any directory, just let me know the URL here.
But paypal works fine with most people and most countries, you know no payment method would work with everyone
I've been using 2CheckOut for several months until I moved to PayPal. Had no problem with it. 2CO is even easier to implement. And far easier for tests. You just put hidden form "DEMO" and can test and test... What was not so nice - payments were cleared after few days, just like echecks in PayPal. Also fees are not to compare with PayPal. Really prefer PayPal though it's not perfect....
We added a merchant account to Skaffe Directory over a year ago and over %50 of our submitters opt for the merchant account over the PayPal option.
yeah, considering adding moneybookers too...... we need to start sending a CLEAR MESSAGE to paypal that they better get their act together and lower their fees!
Well, in that case, you can certainly refer my list to them. They will be happy to know and "we" will be happy to serve them Nice Directory. I looked at some pages but wasn't able to see if you have stated your option. Please consider adding a small note that you accept CC with your Merchant Gateway and I will be happy to add your directory. Exactly. PayPal need to know that there are legitimate customers & sellers out side there "trusted" countries list. Do let me know when you add that option. PS. Looks like only Velocity was able to read the small font in my 1st post.

eBusiness Directory offers both paypal and 2co Most business comes through paypal and despite there fees there system has more features that are useful for directorys like subscriptions etc. I have'nt looked at google checkout but I am sure it could be a paypal killer if they put a bit of effort into it.
I only have Paypal available in my directories. No one did tell me that he/she wanted to pay by moneybookers or 2co,I wouldn't implement them until some people request.
