I heard that one of the factors that google checks for is how long you registered the domain name for? So if you only registered it for 1 year it has less factor then 2 years? Does it matter if you go over 2 years?
no not true.. the age of the domain is not related to PR. But it is related to the SERPS. EDIT: sorry, I didn't read the question properly; No, the number of years you register the domain doesn't affect anything.
Okay thanks alot for that.. I read somewhere on the forums here someone was saying this.. was making me worried as i only registered a year for now.
If you register a domain name for more of 2 years, it could help your Serp. I recommend register domains for more of 2 years....
Does not affect your PR but logically speaking you would think that a 10year old domain would have a higher PR than a 1 year old domain because it has been around for a long time but the one year old domain could have a higher pr.
Anothe rumor i have heard is that submitted to alot of directories in a short period of time may hurt your website is this also true?
Basically, what everyone is trying to say is they really have no idea what PR is based on. And those who do would never post the formula in here for all to see
I'm just saying, none of us work as a programmer of Google PR. There is possibly other factors that go into deciding PR such as quality of content or something. You really never know...
I think it s a rumor that the registrars feed the fire under it I tested but has not seen any positive effects.
In response to OP thats one of the reasons people pay a lot to buy an old domain (say registered 10 years or more ago) because it is a very helpful factor in getting a higher search result. So next time you set up a new site maybe consider buying an old domain rather than a brand new one.
domain age partly affects SERPs PR partly affects SERPs Domain age got nothing to do with PR but backlinks do. ^^ hope this helps.
