Hey Guys I was just wondering whether or not anyone had a religous based website, may that be philosophical, ethical, theological based etc. Basically anything to do with Religion in its broad aspect. I would love to take a look. ;)

Hey, you have a nice website there. I was not too sure what Jainism was exactly until I had a look around your website and did some research I know that it is a dharmic religion originating in India. Could you offer any other information concerning this religion? I would love to find out more. ;)

    www.theologyweb.com
is a probably the best one but you really need to know your stuff if you want to discuss anything on there.

    www.city-data.com
Some good religious discussion can be found here but slightly Christian biased and a bit too much of the "you have to respect the other persons belief" bulls**t. I been suspended 4 times in the last month on city-data so watch what you say!

    www.iidb.org
This is an atheist run forum but there are many theists on there arguing there side. Very interesting discussions on this site but again, some very clever dudes on there that really know what they are talking about.

stOx thank you for your contribution to the thread, however I find your blog somewhat irritating in terms on its content. For example
This guy raises some significant points however he quotes ‘Muslim women in Britain who cover their faces are mentally ill’ and ‘ primitive pigs whose only achievement in life is to be born with a penis in one hand and a Qur’an in another’! Now we need not say anything else on this matter as it is self explanatory that this man is significantly misinformed, obnoxious, and blatantly rude. This line of argumentation could be presented in considerably different way and I find that your displaying of this irrational outburst on your blog reflects your own understanding of the topic. Rational, coherent, and philosophical analysis of the topic would be more appropriate, and maybe then I would take this serious.

Moving on, I find your section on
laughable in the sense that, I don’t know whether or not this is considered humorous. For instance,
    is this serious?

“17 Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.” Where exactly does it say ‘Jesus wants Christians to follow the Old Testament word for word’? Nowhere because that is an interpretation of the language which is used. Many Christians adopt subjective points of view when it come to interpretation and make a distinction between cognitive and non-cognitive language within the bible, lookup Hubert Richards and John Coventry for there analysis of this. Examples ‘I am the vine’! Is he a ‘vine’ no it is metaphor hence the distinction.

This image is also used on your blog ‘do not take it literally’, how ironic that you have just rendered the previous statements meaningless of the ‘10 Questions To Ask A Christian’ which assumes an objective stance on Christians.

I find that your blog on Atheism to be rather unsuccessful in its approach. Adopting a more ‘in depth’ understanding of the topics would prove more successful to your disbelief. Everyone has the right to believe, just the same as to not believe. It is how people go about these thoughts which matters to people like me and many others.

You mean they cherry pick which bits they feel comfortabvle believing and what bits back up a belief they alrtady hold? yeah iv'e already had this discussion in the politics and religion forum.

as for the "why does god hate amputees" thing? Address the points raised if you can. Unfortunately for amputees, God doesn't see fit to perform miracles on them like he does so often with cancer sufferers and the blind.

Just as well i couldn't give a shit what you think then, Isn't it. In a way i hope i offended you and your invisible friend. So perhaps you should go have a little cry. because as long as the religious aren't objective there is no reason the athiests should be required to be.

I take it when you asked for websites on religion you only wanted sites and blogs that suck up to your imaginary friend? Was you hoping for a bit of a christian love-in? No chance.

I despise the thought of actually replying to your ridiculous reply to my comments. I started a credible, rational and informed response to your initial post only to be addressed in such a way that it is not worth bothering with. When you become more mature in your communication of your ideas please inform me and I will take the time to talk with you in a civil manner. Until then grow up please!

ok so don't respond then.. Perhaps you shouldn't have started mouthing off your opinion in the first place, But that's up to you, No doubt you expected immunity from critisism simply because you really, really believe something.

Oops, I forgot to mention that I wanted an array of websites, not just pro-religion. I am a philosopher and will consider anyone’s line of argumentation. Just don’t expect me to agree with poorly presented arguments such as your blog in ‘some’ instances. I would have thought you would have been happy with a plentiful evaluation of your site, but of course I was wrong.

Oh and please don’t presuppose what I believe in Thank you.

I make no bones about it. The blog is anti-religion. It hates religion and it hates the notion of god. And trust me, Anything it can do to belittle and offend the religious, it will.

The blog isn't going to entertain these mental cases with philosophical discussion as if their belief deserves any kind of respect.
