Oh its just against DP TOS !

I think this man want to sell the signature by making 2000 postings !
But there can be also a bad intension in it : getting 2000 postings and become trusted DP member and scamming things ?

    Eagerly waiting for the implementation.

Disallowing signatures would be even better :).

You're not selling sig links. Neither am I.

Condemning a practice one is actively enaged in seems just a tad hypocritical, n'est-ce pas? :)

Please allow me to answer that question:

My fervent wish is that you'll all go somewhere else and take the incessant spamming and scamming with you.

Lol slow down there minstrel, selling signature links is one thing & making posts expressly for the purpose of increasing postcount & getting paid better for signature links is another...

I think people will continue buying links after the links are made nofollow, unless perhaps if the practice is "outlawed" completely. The eyeballs here are very valuable ;)

It would be odd to ban siglink selling when adsense sharing was placed here to get more interest.

I for one think it's sad that members in good standing, who do not spam or post crap, will be punished because of the idiots that do these things. My sigs here have been very useful to me starting out and would hate to lose that with a nofollow or complete loss of signature links. I do, however, like the idea of only being allowed to post links in your sig that belong to you.

My sig links of my own sites have been very important to me, but I have never wanted to buy/sell sig space. In the time I spend doing that, I can learn up on SEO and get better at it so maybe I won't need sig links at all. But for a noob, they are very helpful to have.....

The members in good standing to idiots ratio is not good.

    Something like 1:75

I for-one need the extra income to spread among other DP members. Its purely economic I get paid and I paid others who really need it just to make ends meet. Shawn get more AdSense and we all are happy except for the ones that think its noting more than scamming. That's s shame that there are so many ppl here that are against this. My prayers are with you!

Not selling them would have been stupid..the owner offered me a bulk deal for a year in Aug 2006.

    I wasn't using them anyway...so I agreed.

So between hypocrisy and stupidity, I went for hypocrisy :D.

I have made it quite clear...

    1. Follow a very stringent infraction policy...IMO this will weed out at least half of the crap (may be even more) that comes up everyday on DP.
    2. If not, then disallows signatures.
    3. If not ,then make them "no follow"

An infraction is an infraction... why should a member feel crucified for getting one? Infractions don't last for ever.

Keeping an eye on 10000+ posts per day is not a joke. Members should not expect the mods to set everything right here...they are equally responsible.

If experienced members can't even follow simple guidelines, how can you expect new members to follow them?

Maturity and discipline should come with experience..that is the logic the world uses everywhere.

If a 5 year child hits anyone with a stone, it is unlikely that he will be punished.

If a 15 year old does the same, he will be sent to Juvenile center.

If a 25 year old does the same. he is sent to jail.

That's the logic behind "longer infractions for senior members" idea.
