The average bid for the 2000 posts is at $52 right now. I wonder who it is that wants posts made?

Well,I feel that DP, compared to any other forum is of a high order. Anyone who takes DP for granted can fall in no time since people who misuse the forum, will realise this when they get banned in the long run.

You're assuming that infractions are given solely for ignorance of the rules. My last infraction was for in advertently including an affiliate link in a post - someone asked a question about alternative hosting and I did a copy-and-paste from my site to help him out. It honestly didn't occur to me that the link even contained an affiliate link. I accept the infraction but should I be crucified for an honest mistake simply because I have a lot of posts here?

    Nope. Not at all.

Well I don't know how fast a spammer can go, but I have also made 2300+ posts and that was not for the number of posts. But still it took me 1.5 years.

1.5 years of time is really huge. In 1.5 years the spammer should try and learn some new languages. He should try and learn how to optimize sites. He should try and learn how to design the sites. And I can bet he will earn 100 times more then the person who is offering him the money to come and post on DP.

its seriously not so easy, you cant just buy everything, few 3-4 infrations here there and user is banned, it does take time , and yes lot of hard work is required, you cant get reputations for free here, its not just 2k posts dumped and you are done.

No way you can make 2000 legitimate posts within a short amount of time without spamming or posting rubbish and getting banned

I think the opposite. The senior members should get less infraction. Just because they have more posts and have been posting longer they should get penalize more. Two words "Bull Crap". Those Senior Members who have at least 2 years of posting should get awarded with prizes. JMHO;)

What complete rubbish. You seem to forget it's the members which make the forum community.

What some people do to make money, it just amazes me. The accounts should be banned for good. ;)

Normally, i vehemently object to that, but in the case of DP the whole situation is so blatant, so totally out of control, and so obnoxious that in this case I'd endorse the idea.

It might even get rid of some of the riff-raff, scammers, spammers, and get-rich-quick biffoons.

    You know who you are.

People who have little to contribute tend to have more than 50% of their posts in the following forums...

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=61
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=23
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2

I can name some members off the top of my head but I live by the old adage live and let die, for they are after all wasting their time :D

Wow, we're getting some serious hate in this thread. Why are you guys freaking out about this. If the average bid is $52, then that is about 2.6 cents a post. Do you really think that these will be remotely good posts. They will do about 30 short posts and get 10 infractions, then they will be banned and gone. Not something to worry about.

Why? Because the ratio of crap to worthwhile content on this forum has been increasing for a long time, to the point where finding a thread actually worth reading is a full day's work, and part of the reason for that is rampant infestation with scammers and link buyers and sellers,

And if you think giving out infractions is going to solve the problem, you're dreaming. Many of these guys live in the baseboards.
