Paypal to Indian Rupee Exchange

I have decided to buy a new Laptop. Since there is shortage of fund, I have decided to withdraw $250 in my Paypal account. Does anyone in DP provide Paypal to INR exchange? If so how much is the exchange rate?

Also can someone plz tell me how much days it will take for Paypal to send me the money, If I request a cheque from them?

Thanks for the quick reply . I had verified my account using VCC, will they do any extra account verification if I request for a check? I will be doomed if they ban my account.

 

Xoom the amount directly to your bank account or order a cheque via xoom, it will come to you in 3 days.

 

But from what I came to know, they don't have direct bank withdrawal to Indian Banks.

 

I done its this way:

Request a cheque via xoom in your name your address. Comes in appox 3 days at your home address.

Deposit in bank, cleared in 2 days. Start you xoom transaction on Saturday... cheque should be cleared your end by Friday, goahead complete your shopping on Saturday n Sunday!

 

With Xoom I will get 10K for $263. Not that bad . Thanks.

But is there any other similar services. Also is the site trustable?

 

Xoom is very reliable, every Indian (including myself) who has used it has found it fast and efficient...

I just checked their exchange rate, it is low. They are providing the transfer at
1 USD = 39.27 INR
While the current rate is
1 USD = 40.48 INR

The $8 charge was ok

 

Thats the best rate available for conversion at the moment. Paypal is issuing cheques at the same rate.

If you do a transfer with a member, he is likely to offer you even less than what xoom/paypal provides.

 

if you do not choose to use Xoom, Paypal's cheques will reach you anytime between 10 days and 45 days, depending on the postal services in your area. The rate varies, but these days it hovers around the 40 mark

 

whats the difference between Value Service Fee & Standard Service Fee

AFAIK, Standard Service requires you to have a US Bank Account and the transfer is made from the Bank Account.

 

But if the trading is made with a member, there will be no fee for the transfer. Anyway, it is surely going to be less than $13 for $250 transfer.

My advice... plz goahead with xoom. I don't want that you should get scammed by someone. A lot of money changers often scam, kindly don't fall into this nonsense.

Goahead use Xoom, its completely safe... don't waste your time. A loss of some hundred rupees is better than loss of all the dollars.
