AdSense Earnings Drop or Increase due to Changes from June 1 onwards?

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by cupid9, Jun 2, 2007.

Google did a few changes in AdWords and AdSense.

    • AdSense: AdSense cannot be placed in spammy MFA sites. Those publishers who did it in the past will have their AdSense accounts closed.
    • AdWords: Advertisers from essay writing services are no longer allowed to buy ads using AdWords. Read here.

Personally, I find that my AdSense earnings increase 18.79% when comparing my account-wide page eCPM on May 1, 2007 with June 1, 2007. This is certainly a good news to me because I don't have to manually filter MFA ads at my AdSense ad banners as I did routinely in the past.

About the change in AdWords, I find that essay writing services are still bidding on Google. Just do a search for [essay] and you will see many essay writing service ads. Does Google forget to walk the talk?

Yet, I can't tell exactly whether is there any difference in my earnings, but I checked my competitive filter URLs, OMG they're all gone, no adsenes ads on those sites, its pretty happy news not to spend time to find MFA sites anymore..

True, no more AdSense ads on best[insert number]sites or top[insert number]sites Now seems to be the good time to clear all sites on my Filter list and then add low-paying sites to it instead of adding the "historical" MFA sites.

I think this is the first step google has to take. the next one is to stop smart priceing. I do see increase in per click on some sites after this change.

Hmm... I don't know if it will improve but my 1st June earnings are lower than my May average daily earnings. I do hope that things will improve.

Since yesterday both ctr and ecpm is dropping. Revenue reduced by 50%.

This never happened in 2 years publisihing Adsense for me. And i run no mfa or arbitrage sites. Probably the sites filtered out where clicked by my users..

Too early to tell but one would imagine it would be good for the whole program. Another great step google would be wise to take would be to limit number of clicks to 1 from unique IP for at least 5 days. This would make it extremely difficult for people hell-bent on click fraud.

I'm glad to see the crappy site being pulled, but on the other hand my own earnings reduced on the 1st, but have shot up so far today. I think it's just going to remain up and down like it has always been.

It's probably too early to tell, but my earnings have increased quite a bit today and yesterday.

It's much too early to tell, but I think in the long run this can only be good for earnings. With all the junk MFA sites gone, it's only going to help earnings.

Those changes are only going to be good for other people as advertisers will be spending less paying on MFA site's.

Limiting the number of clicks to 1 from unique IP for at least 5 days? Yes it will definitely decrease the click fraud rates but at the same time it will decrease AdSense publishers' earnings significantly. Sites with loyal reades will be suffering the most. I hope Google does not do this or I will be the first to replace all AdSense banners with [insert other publisher's solutions here].:p

My earnings have actually decreased. I'm getting a lot lower CPC today than I did in May. Hope this trend doesn't continue :p

I've just started with adsense but I didn't make any money on June 1st, recently I had been making around 30 cents a day...so hopefully its a coincidence
