How is a link rated from a directory? When I submit to lets say a PR5 directory but the link itsself is on a page which has PR1. How do you get rated from google, as pr5 link or pr1? also I have submitted to 100's of directories but see only a few link back when I check under link popularity and it has been over 6 months ago?
Submitting to many doesn't bring a backlink.Quality is important and not quantity. The categories the description needs to be prefect. I think it would be considered as pr1 backlink instead of opr 5.
I would think that Google would discount the value of links from link directories since they really are not the same as backlinks from related industries. Im I wrong or is this another Google slap coming?
If you are submitting to 100 free directories than some of them may only accept you. You can also try paid/free link exchange from relevant sites.
In directory submission, Google always consider PR, on which your link is display, always submit your link to quality directories.
I honestly don't waste my time with directory submission. While I submitted my site to many "SEO Friendly" directories I wonder how many of them have accepted my link after almost 6 months. Also I know Google has indexed very few of these links. Even though directories may have high PR, the weight on your individual link is very low. So I stick to article marketing instead =/
I think not all directories are counted as backlinks. Search engine has different way of rating a directories.
the page rank of page that your link stays will effect your site. you must continue to submit more directories
