Buying .us domain - two questions

    Two newbie questions... ;)

    1. From what I have read anyone (from all over the World) can buy one as long as it will be used for business in US - so does that means if I my website is targeting US audience and selling them my own or affiliated products I'll have no problems or do I need something more?

    2. Is having .us domain considered US presence and do you need to pay US taxes i.e. for Adsense?

It is blurry , although I have some dot.us domains , I am curious about this subject. too.
The article at wiki says :

Registrants of .us domains must be United States citizens, residents, or organizations, or a foreign entity with a presence in the United States
