Latest word on P2P sharing programs? I've never have installed a P2P sharing program in any of my computers. I remember that was a time where some program called Kaza was famous. Then I heard there were newer networks, but never got specifics. Now, I need to install one of those programs to dig in certain stuff I just can't find anywhere else. What do you recommend me to install?
Er, www.utorrent.com? I don't know if it's what you'd define as P2P, but it kicks ass over anything else.
Thanks for the link. Let me ask you something. From where I remember there were some different networks, and then each network had a set of different compatible programs to share stuff. So, what this utorrent is? I've seem something called bittorrent a lot, but what's that? the program or the network? Also, someone recommended me something called "eMule", how about that?
Quick run-by. Go to www.torrentz.com. Search whatever you wish. Download the torrent file. Load uTorrent. File > Add File. Torrent finishes, you unzip, and enjoy.
I use limewire for single 'items', and utorrent for 'larger items' utorrent uses the bittorrent protocol, and yeah kazaa was sued into oblivion from what i remember I need to find an alternative to limewire though
Torrents are good but are very slow at downloading. Bittorrent is for downloading torrent files. I usually use limewire its currently the BEST out right now. You can try ares too. - Prilep
for me i just love Azureus...its based on Java..but it has excellent stats and monitoring..and many advanced features..like hosting your own torrent..using your own internet connection...rather than a tracker.. before i used BitTorrent client..
Mine goes about 4x faster than limewire (the file I was getting before was around 200kb/s (good for me )), they just have a tendency to stop randomly (stopped at 41% of a 1.5GB file)
I Limewire just for mp3's right? One of the things I want to get is to see if I found a very old version of a development software from the late 80's.
eMule is a free program that uses the ed2k network. It's pretty good if you don't have monthly traffic limit.
