I got this email from CJ on 3/28: I sent CJ a message and got this reply: This email and CJ's reply makes it seem really temporary, as if it's just an account glitch. But it's been 2 months now. I got lucky, since this was my top earner, one of their competitors joined up within a month and my earnings stabilized. Does this happen often? Do advertisers usually use affiliate networks like CJ to establish themselves then drop off after six months or so? If so, I really need to maximize my earnings while the new advertiser sticks around.
I have had 2-3 advertisers who were deactivated in in the past year and half. i think they were deactivated either because they were having very less activity or maybe they didnt pay their dues to CJ.
Thanks, Slash. One in a year I can handle, but I don't want all my options to go away so suddenly. And it did seem to be a funding issue or something ("their problem," as CJ put it in the email response). Just need to diversify, I guess.
I've been with CJ for only two months and I just got one, so I was about to ask this exact question It was a big company, so I don't think the advertiser was playing a game with CJ. Must have been some contract/payment issue. From your previous experience, do they really get turned back on or most of them are just gone forever?
It's only been two months, but I don't expect that advertiser to come back. I'm lucky that I've found a replacement, but it's a little more expensive for visitors to convert.
