We try to optimize and increase the position for this page on google search and it looks like is imposible. The page address is: http://www.shoedeals4u.com/1-born.htm or go to shoedeals4u dot com and click on born. The targeted keywords are : born shoes For the last year we submited this page to many directories, we created articles to include links to this page, we optimized the page for that group of keywords. The age of the website is 5 years. The page has a pr 3 with google. If you will do a search on google for ' born shoes' you will find our page on page 12. I don't understand why. I would very much appreciate clarity on this as is driving me crazy and I can't find any relevant info anywhere. Many thanks.
I feel you pain. What I can say, other site (at least most of them) before yours, might have old, 'good back links' and 'good' content than yours. Keep on working, that is what all of us doing.
Earning more backlinks will help in seo. If you would get your site to a PR5, you'll see it on the first page for that keyword.
you are guilty of keyword stuffing......born appears about 30 times on that page....I stopped counting at 20..... your "paragraph" about born shoes are just some sentences repeated twice... the page is horribly optimized....It is ranking exactly where it should be.

Yes...the backlinks are what increased the search engine position not the PR....PR is a side effect of linking
PR = Backlinks Backlinks = Better Search Engine Position So its still correct to say that PR will vary your Search Engine Position
the paragraph with the description of timberland makes sense and actually describes timberland boots....and you didn't repeat the same paragraph twice on the page...
