How many do you think then it would take to make this the thread with the most posts of any blog in the world? I have no idea but sounds like a good link to ripleys could be had

The most I have seen are on extremetech's forums on a thread named "The thread about absolutely nothing". Currently it stands at 92,077 replies.
hm...i've seen a forum thread go over 100 pages..it was mostly spam posts just to raise post count. I wasnt a member though, just found it in google
Sex, politics and religion tend to create long threads so combining all three should do the trick. Maybe have a poll who the sexiest religious figure turned politician is, although that may be tough as politics is show business for ugly people.
I agree..if you want long threads go to the P&R and debate. I would think that the bender thread would be enough for those who don't like debating.
The longest thread would end up being a stupid forum game, such as the "3 word game" where each person posts 3 words, and the next person does the same, but it has to make sense, and thus makes like a 70 page long story... Example.. Post #1..This is the Post# 2. dumbest thing I've
Post# 3. ever agreed too. It's true. Back on an older forum we had 5,000 Posts of "Say something about the person above you." Fortunately, the webmaster had a forum crash =)
As I said above, that loonnng thread has to be about absolutely nothing, otherwise it'll run out of steam sooner than anybody thinks.
