i wouldn't migrate to vista if you payed me. not at least for a few more years. let them get the bugs out first... and hopefully by then i will have a mac and wont have to worry about microsoft ever again. it's a dream of mine...

Maybe you should upgrade to a spell checker and learn some grammar first.

    Agreed.

Also, I wouldn't move to Vista for a while yet. It's buggy and unstable.

Buggy and unstable? Another person that generalizes.

I've been using Vista since March and I haven't really encountered any significant problems or bugs, other than certain programs (Nero >_>) not functioning properly, but other than that everything has been fine on Vista.

With 512MB of RAM, it should run, but for better performance you'd want 1 gigabyte or more. I have a Intel dual-core processor running at 1.6GHz (per core) and 1GB of RAM and everything runs smooth for me.

That and maybe replace the Caps Lock key on the keyboard ;)
I totally agree, I've been using vista since, 3rd February and I have found two problems, neither of which worry me in the slightest. Turning Hibernation on and off, is much harder than it ever was before, I can't find the actual button in the power settings and so you have to use cmd prompt, the only other minor annoyance is the lack of a GUI for defrag. Other than that it is excellent, the pros of vista are so many, that to list them here would require a lot more time than I have at the moment!

I never really noticed the lack of hibernate in the start > power menu. I use sleep anyway -- when I close my laptop lid, it just goes into standby. When I lift it up, back on in a second or two. Really convenient for my needs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but sleep/standby mode uses a small amount of power, I think I read that if you have a laptop on a battery and the power becomes very low, it will go into hibernate mode then.

Sorry did your school mates or work mates tell you it was cool to have a apple? Seriously Apple mac is great if you wanted to edit video, or do some professional Quark creation, but in general.. why would you use a Mac?

    Do you not like games?
Do you not like fast systems?
Do you not like being able to run what you want?

Windows Vista a great step for Microsoft and while I have never understood people moaning about there systems (I have had Windows XP installed for over 1 year now without ever running anti-virus or anything, I don't need to as I keep my windows updated)
