A kid who spend years remembering how to spell some damn word and got eliminate just because he spell a word wrong...
Isn't spelling correctly the whole point of a spelling competition? I feel bad, but like any competition there are winners and losers. Don't you think all the other competitors also worked hard and prepared for the competition?
Reasons Why: 1) Pride 2) Cash Prizes 3) Other Prizes 4) Bragging rights 5) Make your friends look stupid 6) Your a geek with no friends 7) You have parents that force you to do these things There are just a few reasons why... Hope that helps .. Oh and Ps, I agree with brwntown... Someone has to WIN and someone has to LOOSE
Al meye liyf eye av bean praktisin two winn a spealling compurtition, du yu thingk eye cann winn becoz eye cann speal clevis propearly?
7) because of )2 and 3), and his parents use 1) to bait you (Anything think being a spellingbee is cool?). And all those time used to spelling word that no one use in real life make 6). And if the kid do it for 4) and 5), then i have nothing to say...
First, it is not the same word over and over. It is different words each time, so one must prepare for all words. Second, the situation is the same as a runner who runs 100 meter over and over, or swimmer, or any athlete for that matter. Usually it is the thrill of competition that drive people to compete.
8) chicks dig guys who can spell have you ever watched some of those competitions? hardcore words. obscure to say the very least some of them...I'd be out of the firstest round fore schure
