Hi, I see here on DP members with ~200 posts and a lot of reputation, and other with more than 1000 posts and only one green square!! How can you gain more reputation? Do you add "gimme rep" on you sig? Help people on PMs ans ask them to give rep? ...? Cheers

Be helpful, that is the most important thing. If you go out of your way to help other people, surely if they are experienced users of this forum, they will in tuen 'go out of their way' to give you +rep. Haha, if there is something that you can give away, then maybe you can consider doing that in the freebies area, that will most certainly gain you some +rep, especially if it is something that many people can use. Going back to the helpful bit, if someone asks a question that you can answer, then answer them, but answer as best as you possibly can, don't hold back on anything. We are all here (ok, well I actually don't know that) to learn from each other and to gain valuable things. If you are a valuable member of this community, then you are an asset and you will be rewarded as such. Good luck! PS: last, but not least, remember to +rep those who help you!
Dont ask people to give you rep...otherwise there is probably an infraction for that. Just give lots of helpful answers to peoples questions and they will (hopefully) reward you with a green blob.

Be helpful and also be active on the forum. If you post 1 or 2 posts a day, your chances of earning rep will be too less. The more you participate on the forum and more you help out people, the more chances you have to earn some green. Also, many people start threads like review my site, + rep for helpful replies. Helping them out can also get you some green.
just try to be helpful, if you know some answers try to share with others, start useful threads etc! start with the reviews sections, there you will get the most reps, but then you will have to make some good reviews as well
Because the member giving it is new and doesn't have enough power to give you green or they gave it in the general chat.
