Normal users don't need to know about pr. Just like I use my car but don't need to know how it works. But I expect my mechanic to know.

webmasters with low pr sites will always tell you that pr doesn't matter. I think it is a very important part of the G algorithm.

O'kay everyone pr sounds like it has been getting a bad rap lately"

do you think we are blaming pr as a cause of lack of traffic? I mean really" who's to judge pr the most successful web sites online to day dont have pr or a max of 5 " like cnn msn they have 8,9,10, when you look at that average it is paramount that you remember your up against a higher brand name and popularity" so my fellow guru
marketers the pr you receive is based on what you give to the internet if your not cnn or ny times dont fight it, bite it.

good add copy over all will be your teacher" good pr could be your enemy if your not trained properly on how to get it"

also no one raves about pr stick to actual sales and branding the pr theory will have you on a boat forever"

It has importance of course but you are missing the point that there are a lot of other factors that google uses to rank web sites (more than 200 mentioned in an interview).

    stay relevant training is essential"

If Pr was the only thing needed to rank then a pr10 site including the keyword will bypass every related site , of course pr is important but there are a lot of factors.

New York Times interview with Amit Singhal, who is in charge of Google's ranking algorithm.

They use 200 "signals" and "classifiers," of which PageRank is only one. "Freshness" defines how many recently changed pages appear in a result. They assumed old pages were better, but when they first introduced Google Finance, the algorithm couldn't find it because it was too new. Some topics are "hot". "When there is a blackout in New York, the first articles appear in 15 minutes; we get queries in two seconds," said Singhal. Classifiers infer information about the type of search, whether it is a product to buy, a place, company or person. One classifier identifies people who aren't famous. Another identifies brand names. A final check encourages "diversity" in the results, for example, a manufacturer's page, a blog review, and a comparison shopping site."

    some good insider news :)

really " thats good info i mean really it is" good content blogging on word press, and of course key word rich domains will throw the pr theory off" is this a good thing" think about it, if you get pr from Google lets from o to 3 thats by the first 3 month review" your doing somthin right on average ive seen sights like web pro news with a pr of three" most of your top web master forums have 4 or 5" at best. most wish they can hit 5< only microsoft and google hit 10, tip get rss feeds into your site" dont mess with pr it will come slowly. but wait I have a 5 month old domain with pr 4 solid. omega3onsale.com how did I do that" stick to press releases and again good content," your pr will jump by leaps and bounds.
