If that's the case... I own a MySpace resource website containing the name 'MySpace' in it... God help the millions of MySpace resource sites when MySpace comes to sue us all! Lol, I wouldn't worry about it unless you are actually using HIS name in your content to gain money there isn't much to say. They are probably just trying to scare you into dropping your domain as you are higher than his site in the rankings!
geez! The Rich Jerk really is a jerk, check out the posts on http://www.shoemoney.com they are trying to sue him too lol.
Surely he can't have copyright over the phrase 'Rich Jerk'. That is stupid as it is just a phrase. I have never heard of his domain or service. Does this mean If I have a business called 'The Dog Food Company' I can sue anyone who uses the phrase 'Dog Food' in there name or domain. Does this mean that myspace can sue all the myspace resource sites. It is just stupid! If it was me and I had the money I would get a lawyer and fight.
I dunno about the legal issues in US, but here in my country people would laugh because of the letter! How lowlife is the company to send out a warning like that!? It´s about scaring you, not more or less.
I saw a t-shirt the other day with the a little trademark symbol after the phrase, 'Life is good.' Pretty soon, our entire language will be owned by big corporations. (This entire post copyright 2007 me.)
Well, you can read on shoe money blog that Rich Jerk is bankrupt. By the way, his business is for sale. There was even an auction on eBay.
Ask the guy a proof to be sure that he is not a scammer. If he does not reply ,he sure is a scammer. If he replies ,verify his proof.
