I was browsing Sitepoint's marketplace and here's what I've found: Torrents Crawler/Lister/Search engine portal. Current bid for the site is $17,000 and the site is almost 1 month old. Also, here's the traffic: Unique visitors: 392 Pages: 24785 Hits: 79171 Now, I might be blind or there are some other traffic figures, but why the hell is the price so high? Here's the link: http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace/auction/8122 P.S. I just don't get it.
Whoa.... its definetly not going to sell lol.. the sites not even that great... unless someone is going to completely remodel it..lol - Regards
Well, I see it differently... First of all, the domain name is really good. Megabittorrent.com, really catchy and brandable. Second, The site has almost 12,000 torrent files and half a million seeders, so will little bit more marketing (smart marketing), you can easily pull in $8-$10k a month...
Domain name is pretty good, but I can make a script to index thousands of torrents per day. Nobody would pay me even $10,000 for the script with 50,000 indexed torrent files. (if someone is willing to pay, PM me - just kidding) It's just funny.
Most likely someone ( a friend) is spam bidding to make it look worth a lot of money and the perceived value greater.
Come on the site has been established for days, even weeks. It's made over $20 and the guy had to download some software and do "massive" integration. It's worth at least 25,000 lira.
Haha, lets convert that really quick: 25,000 Lira = $0 USD. The lira is obsolete. But i agree it is worth that much. In case anyone has spent more than 30 minutes at the Sitepoint marketplace, there are lots of people that sell their sites for 5 figures, because it has "lots of potential." There are lots of sites there that are complete jokes. It damages the reputation of Sitepoint.
