Funny article with lots of very good points. I don't believe hardly any of these mental disorders, it all seems to be nonsense.

I am not too sure of what my opinion is on this, however the quote above sort of sums up my general thoughts. My English language teacher at college, who has been teaching for over 40 years once said that she has had many students who have been diagnosed dyslexic and they are generally extremely intelligent in their spoken contributions in class, however their written expression reflected the general symptoms of dyslexia.

    Julian quoted
Yes I agree with this fully it does have a stigma attached, but dismissing dyslexia on the grounds of low intelligence seems contradictory to many cases, especially in my teachers case.

Money 'is just a middle-class way to hide stupidity'

I know a few "dyslexic" people that are absolute geniuses - dyslexia is certainly not a sign of stupidity. It's the same as not being able to read music - I know some musicians that can read and write symphonies in their sleep, but they just can't "play". I know some academics that can write thesis after thesis, but they have no clue about what's actually going on in the real world.

What's this got to do with politics or religion? :p

Some Middle-Class families do use Dyslexia to hide their child's stupidity, i went to college with one such dunce. He was an idiot, he had no trouble reading or writing, he was just stupid. Period.

Ofcourse, the family doctor was a close friend of the family...
