    If it was PayPal:
Yes you can contact PayPal. But first go to the resolution centre and make a dispute with the transaction. You may escalate it to get a PayPal advisor to look at it straight away (30 day period).

It may be hard to get the money back if the person has taken money out of his paypal account and bank account.
Also if the deal wasn't through ebay, they may say they can't get the money back for you.

    Good Luck with it. :D

Contact PayPal about your problem, saying you have been scammed for whatever reason it may have been.

If you used your creditcard directly, you can call your CC company and tell them what happened. Also tell them you want a chargeback.

Hey what kind of scam? If you paid through paypal then it may take some time as you need to raise a dispute. But if you are referring to some fraudulent transaction on your CC then you can report to your CC issuer authority and they would charge back for you.

    punkd,

Then you should be able to start a disput against them. You can do that without calling PP. Do it right there in you resolution center I think.

Man it's been a while since I've seen that, but I know it's in there.

Ouch, well if you sent with your papal balance, then your chances to see the money again is low. Scammers always withdraw the money in their paypal account, so when you win the disput on paypal, there is no money to taken from the scammers.

if by 'money exchange' you mean similar to all the EG/PP/MB things floating around here, then you're out of luck since you broke the TOS in the first place.

I think next time you must carefully use your CC to fund, it will be safe

Yeah, scammers are affraid to scam you when you use your credit card.
I'm about to open a dispute in PP, too. For a much smaller amount, but it's still money. Mine :D I'll keep you posted

It seems to me you can still call your CC company and tell them you want to make a chargeback. I've done it before and I got my money back. H...maybe you should at least call and find out aye?

I may be wrong, but isn't your cc funding your paypal account before you make the actual payment throug pp? That means you transfered funds into pp, just like transfering to another bank account and then made payment using the new funs in pp.
But, anyway, he sent the money from his PP balance, so PP should/would do something about it.

Unless of course you already have a cash balance in PayPal from other transaction.
