I don't like vista because of all the different versions. I know that i would want the Ultimate because it's the top one, lol. But it's so bloody expensive. And trying to get a computer/laptop with ultimate pre-loaded is practically impossible unless you got to Alienware.

Plus, I've used Vista and to be honest it needs a bit more work before it's suitable for moi.

I am not complaining just wanted to say that there are a lots of people still running PC's with 512MB of RAM and integrated GPU's. Power users are not the ones to be compared with...

It's great if you have an up to date PC and compatible hardware - like I have ;)

It's cool, smooth and I like it. Nevertheless I had to install it anyway as I'm developing applications for vista... :D

Maybe I'm becoming old, but Vista is probably the first OS that I haven't any curiosity to install / discover / play with.
    I don't know what I don't like in particular, it's just a general feel.

    Because of resources Vista needs.
I've purchased a mini laptop, and immediately got 2 Gigs RAM for my Vista Business. Without it, the Database icon of the laptop (i.e system-is-busy sign) would never stop to blink.

There is always 2 sided views and opinions. Personally, Vista will be good if you have a new and fast system with a lot of RAMS. It has a better security protection but then at times it can be a hassle to go through it. Better graphic display and if you have a good graphic card, it will be smooth otherwise can be problematic. For search, it can be quite a hassle as it takes long time to open a folder or search a file. Main concern is that some drivers may not be available so it can't run in VISTA. I guess it will be better to wait for a year or so until most of the drivers are available and things will be better.

... or what I've said when they announced Vista - I'll have to wait for Service Pack 1 to purchase it :)

My system got slower. No -no viruses.

Crashed like 4 times. Throws up a blank screen every now and then. Imagine you switch your comp on and you find nothing at all.

Well these reasons were good enough for me to switch back to XP/UBUNTU .. never will regret my decision.

Well, i'm not against Windows Vista... but i think it will be better later when first Service Pack comes out, and definitely it's more secured and nicer than Windows XP

I think its just that generally people oppose a change, they want more of the same. So in about a years or maybe two years time, Vista will become the next Xp.

I got vista 2 days after launch and believe it wasn't really tested enough to be officially launched.
It's my worst experience with Microsoft products.
Anyway I'm still using it and it got a lot better since then with new updates but still there are a lot of bugs in it.

Yes, I do agree about waiting for the Service Pack 1 to come out first before upgrading. By then, major issues might be already resolved and we can safely upgrade the O/S. But if you are still have an old PC or notebook, then guess it will be better to have XP instead. The design of VISTA is meant for newer and faster systems.

Remember what it was like when XP came out - everyone said the same thing, oh its slower, oh its just the same but in new packaging.

I have to admit i have not used it yet so cant comment on how good it is - i moved to OS X instead!

I have a lot of software. I'm well beyond updating much of it, and I'm afraid that some of it might not work in Vista. Maybe I will need it at some time, but not now.
