Register it in the name of your parents.

Any reason why you want it to be registered in your name? You aren't an adult yet

In the UK at least contracts are not binding on you, except for "essentials", whilst you are a minor.

Whilst this does not stop you entering into them it does mean that the other party cannot enforce them if you breach the terms of the contract. As such most companies do not want to enter into a contract with a minor because if the minor decides not to pay etc they can just turn round and walk away.

I am not aware of any restrictions from a purely domain perspective

Do not listen anyone here regarding representations (I guess that would include myself, lol.) First take a look at the terms of the agreement at the registrar. They may have a specific age requirement. Other comments here might be revealing because, according to laws of many places, agreements are not "binding" with minors for non-necessities (like food and water.) Thus if a minor aged 12 bought a car for $5,000 it is possible the minor can walk away after signing (or even driving the car.)

Just look in the Terms and Conditions of your registrar, if you have to be over 18 then it will tell you there, as far as I know you don't have to and I have several domains which are all registered in my name, but then I may have violated something without knowing about it...

You can register it without any problems until you start something not allowed for your age...like an adult site

I registred several domains before I was 18.
There're though a few things you must take in account:
1 - Does your registrar allow minors? If not, go for another registrar, which does allows minors.
2 - How do you pay? A paypal account as a 17-year-old (by example) is not allowed, unless you register the paypal account as your parent's :)

    That's it I guess :D
    Enjoy your domain ;)
