It's been about 50 days now. I am pleased with the traffic and page views, but I haven't gotten any feed back outside of contributers, and readers. I am looking for some good realistic reviews from webmasters to improve on. Some known factors: The travel section is not done, The left side bar is wasting profitable space. I am a code Hack, I know it. I have done everything on the fly, hit and miss. It is modified from this theme I would appreciate what ever you have to say. Overall I think it looks good for having so much content on one page. The first thing that caught my eye were the gaps around the header and menu. To me it just doesn't flow. If I were you, I might try something like a simple gradient background spanning the entire width of the page that goes from black at the top down to white and the bg would only go down a little past the menu. I think having a darker bg at the top and maybe making the menu bg black would make it look more tied together. And the recent posts almost seem to run together, maybe add one more linebreak or <hr> between them or maybe alternating text or background colors... anything to separate them a tad more. Anyway, I like it a lot, it doesn't look too "bloggy".
I keep trying different things with the menu thing. When the background matched the rest of the header it seemed that people didn't recognize it as a menu. Now it seems that since I have separated it like that, page views are up. But I agree something is missing. I was thinking drop down.
There is a problem, when I point my mouse to Night Club, it reffers me somewhere at ://......./%postname%/some_more_info
Really? I'm not getting that error. What are you using, IE, Opera, FireFox? I will check it out, thanks.
The layout looks quite outdated and blocky, I would try to add some rounded corners.. and a new header design for sure..
I like the nice clean layout. I agree with 8everything though, you need to change the header design and make it more appropriate for the target audience. The backshot of a nightclub with the punters partying would work well, or something similar.
