Hello, this is my first post here. I've run into an odd situation with Adwords and was curious to see if anyone else has encountered this. Our company is bidding on terms that are brand specific (e.g. nike basketball shoes) but we are not bidding on the generic term (e.g. basketball shoes). We have about 20 or so brands that we are bidding on that contain the generic term, and the max bid is pretty much the same. For two of the more popular brands we carry, the brand term actually pulls up the generic term. So for those examples our "nike basketball shoes" keyword would pull up if someone searched for "basketball shoes". Our keywords were set on broad match btw. I did figure a workaround by setting the "nike basketball shoes" term to exact, and then putting the equivalent of "nike shoes" on broad. I just thought this was an odd issue given how Google defines their matching rules.
Sorry, must not have explained it well. We are bidding on the equivalent of "nike basketball shoes", but our keyword is pulling up when someone searches for "nike shoes".
