Just recently I've been looking at .edu subdomains run by students from schools. The sites are low quality and doesn't have much backlinks in them yet they have really high PR. So I guess they must be good.
i have read comment on matt cutts blog. he was saying that edu and gov link do not have any special importance
The domain being .edu does not help at all, but the reason people generalize them being better, is because universities are often extremely high pr (6-9), and so any page linking off from this will grab a huge chunk of that (5-8) when it is linked to by the University. So a PR5-8 backlink would help a lot, but it does not have anything to do with the .edu. (at least for google)
Does anyone know of any .edu directories or does anyone know where i can find a list of such directories
I dont really think it has much importance... and even if it 'had' any importance... it don't have now... as google very well knows what we are doing.
Over a period of time, edus tend to be well established trusted sites. If you just bought a .edu today, it would be of no worth
It has been said that 10 or more .edu links will make you a millionaire, and give you a PR 9 or higher. It was said by me, so it must be true.
