Don't worry you will not lose the database.

However if you had made any changes to your files, they have been already lost.

Yes your database is intact so don't worry about that. Do you have backup of your files (template) ??

actually i didnt touched that template folder so all templates are there as usual only, so no harm to templates.
So do you suggest me to install the directory?

If you have a cPanel, then simply login to phpMyadmin and choose the DB from the list and click on Export and scroll was down and click on Go.

Select All, then Copy. Open notepad and paste then save it as database.sql and you have just made a back up of your DB.

if u want to be extra careful, u might want to reinstall the directory script on another folder FIRST, then import the database u have backed up and see if it works. If it does, then u can safely delete the old folder and reinstall your script on the root. This is just to be extra safe if you prefer.....

wld be disastrous to delete all files only to find out your database is also corrupted and nothing can be done to salvage it since the old files have been deleted....

As jl255 has just said, if your new to this stuff you might want to take an extra precaution, make sure what you save is the actual DB.

What you can also do, is to make a new Database and import the Database you have just saved into this newly created blank DB.

To import a DB is very much the same as Exporting. Click on Import instead of Export. Find the database you saved earlier.

I have a tutorial on how to create a database.

To play it safe, do not delete the old one, instead make a new one. In case you might have a corrupt saved Data, just to play it safe.

try PM dvduval, think he is usually quite efficient in helping others solve their phpld problems....

also, how did u get that error? was it after reinstalling? If not, suggest to do what i proposed earlier. Reinstall on a separate folder and see if it works with your backup. You don't lose anything...
