Setting Up Forums

    I need to set-up free forums on my site and they need to be customizable.

    Where do i get the software? How do i set it up?

    If you need a free forum package to use on your site, try SMF (Simple Machines Forum). Be sure to read this handy reference on how to deal with forum spam and security on SitePoint as well:

    If you need help setting up SMF, feel free to PM me and I'll be more than happy to help you out. It's (to borrow the phrase from a Geico commercial) so easy a caveman can do it.

    Another favourtie forum software is phpBB, again it is quite easy to use.

    I think phpBB fork called "phpBB by Przemo" is much better!

    The thing is though, phpBB has enough security holes to safely cruise a fleet of Nimitz class super-carriers through in the dark on a moonless night without any navigation aids.
