PHPLD support cannot help, so can someone here help with modification????

Ok its been maybe 3 weeks weeks or more since folks at PHPLD forums requested Disable Top Level Category Submission for regular links. But allow for featured links submission only in top-level category to save time of editing ofcourse.

Here is the thread if interested : http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8286 Code listed there blocks all submissions to top level category, we want blocking of only regular links ( i tried few times but my skills suck at coding so bwaaaa ).

So, i would like to know if some modder or coder can do it for me, i will pay them on behalf of the others and release the mod for free, maybe others can pitch in some money too to the coder/modder. This should have been done by actually phpld staff and moders but since they do not want to help out on this , would not mind here getting some help from DP users who knows coding well.

PS: If someone can do it for free it would be great, cause it will ofcourse be release for free .

Also would require the same for version 2.0 and 3.2 .

Go to darges "Link Forever" and get his mods for 10 bucks or whatever the cost is
now i belive he has this specific mod (I Believe)as im getting tired off the same....
(that people submit regular links in the top catagory just for PRs sake which is ONLY for featured clients.)
7. Closed Category Mod (all versions including latest 3.2)
With this mod you can easily close any category for submission. It is also possible to close category for specific link type.
You can try to submit link to Arts->Closed

Maybe the reason that your NOT getting the support you ask is the crazy posts you make at forums
attacking the script makers like dvdul and the others.... People dont forget shit like that

Yeah ive purchased the "Link Forever" mods pack recently, ive not installed that one yet but it does mention it can be setup to block regular and only allow featured through to top level categories.

 

Dude sorry to sound harsh on this one but are you blind ? Did you click that url to davids forum, did i start the thread ? No, did i first ask for only featured links to be allowed to be submitted only to top level c ? No , . .. Get your facts straight next time K ?

I am just trying to help all others out there like myself and you come in and start ur crying like a baby.

Sorry but responses like that really piss me off.

PS: thanks for the mod link its also already on that link i provided so please be careful what you post next time without looking. And i am not interested in that mod, its a simple mod for doing one simple thing i do not want super duper mod.

anywho, it's doable
you can always use the mod suggested and block those specific top level categories.
it would be all the same nonetheless, just take a few extra minutes to set things up in your admin.

OK irrelevant and a bit offtopic but seriously PHPLD forums have never been helpful.... its just yesterday that i posted a thread about needing help to upgrade from ver 2.1.1 to 2.1.2 but it said a mod will review my post first and then approve if its worth a thread....

I'm not about money. It only pays my bills. Otherwise I'd do it all for free.
However when someone actually does get one of my MODs, well, let them tell you what I support since they could tell you better. (if they want to)

Yep no results yet, just read the other thread. I just installed the close cat mod from Link Forever, works fine. I closed all my top lvls and just noted they they are for feature links only but will have to be move manually. I email the admin because its states that you can use the script to close the cat for only some links but It makes no mention of this in the install instructions. Lets see if I get some more info, this would be a nice time saver.

 

Yup this will save lots of time for every directory owner using phpld.

 

I just move them... but hey call me lazy...

 

Yaa imagine moving 100 of links every hour ? You think thats pretty?

 

LinkForever's mod for Closing Category from submission may need some additional code if you do not want close category for some link type and close for other.

Just removed example code and moved it to mod's tutorial.
Now you will find example code how to close any category:

1. for all link types
2. for all link types except 'featured'
3. for all except 'featured' and 'regular'.
