You must be kidding me. Google has begun to try to devalue the value of buying backlinks, and you think that Google will allow a person to place a link on their site, awhile they are trying to crack down on these cases.

Lol --are you going for PR7 ---?? I don't think it is possible with the current G algo.

Some directories ( Sorry --I can't name them) had PR9, and several PR8 backlinks before last update and no one got to PR7. on the other hand excellentguide didn't have those strong links --it still achieved PR7.

I have decided not to go after them any-longer and invest those money to make my site a web-portal instead.

Check Matt Cutts Update --he was giving example (with a screenshot) of LINUX selling links on the footer and clearly said they won't pass PR:(

    Hello..

I always thought that the message was ...

Link to relevent sites and dont chase high PR sites with the intentions of
defrauding our PR ranking system for the sake of raising higher PR in yours.

    thx

how Google can find paid links

with whatever mechanism it is different to find paid links in a site!

If they are trying to crack down on it ,they would lose all their money

They are just making these kind of statements so the webmasters would get a impression that a Google is tracking the paid links

But really they do not have a mechanism or a method to track those links

Just imagine the no of links sold on DP

It will be over 2000 each day how they can track it?

I didn't tell anyone that we shouldn't sell links. But everyone knows and has read from Matt Cutt that Google is strongly against the selling and buying of links. Offcourse it will be hard for them to locate which one's are brought. What I'm saying is how the person stating that the topic creator should go as Google for a backlink on Google's site.
