The Sandbox VS Purchasing Aged Domains

I have a few websites that took 8+ months to rank out of the Sandbox. All sites were heavy on unique content, ranked very high on Yahoo for major search terms, and delivered quality to its visitors The waiting period was still long regardless of how much content and backlinks I received.

I'm very curious to know if anyone has any first hand experience in purchasing an aged domain (1+ years old) and ranking quickly within Google without the Sandbox delay. Theoretically, I would think this could work, but would cost more out of pocket in the beginning since aged domains are expensive.

    Any experiences?

Aged domain have no any effect on sandbox ,even you add a new page on a 10+ years old domain authority site.it's just waste you money.

Not neccessarily, if you purchase a domain which hasn't actueally expired there's a chance you will retain your rank, i have three sites which this has happened with.

Yeah....im speaking about domains that haven't expired and are indexed within Google. I do believe this helps out alot when it comes to the Sandbox effect.

if your site is 50+ years but not listed in google than the site is like a new site for search engines!

Again...I am speaking of a domain name that has an index page and has been crawled by Google. Not domains that our expired or not indexed.

What if the domain gets indexed, and then deindexed according to the wayback machine?

well my personal experience i have seen the domains which are aged get index very quick and rank for the keyword you target super fast.

i tried this myself a very competative keyword i gained within no time even though the site was never in the google index before but the domain was 5 years old.

I agree.. if you pick them up before they expire, go offline, etc.. it is possible to retain the rank...

but even if it's not expired, if it's offline for a short time, sedo'd etc.. before you buy it from a webmaster, expect a good chance to lose it..

you're best buying active online domains, not offline parked ones..

I think you're right, I bought a 8 year old domain off of here that was never indexed thinking I could avoid the sandbox and I do believe I am caught in quick sand. Of course this being my first aged domain purchase I thought I struck gold, but oh well. I say all that to say if you buy and old domain, make sure its in the index.

I bought a domain that was about to expire, it was a PR2 and a month later it became a PR3. I had thought I would lose the PR2 but was surprized at the
    PR3 instead.

Just buy the domain name for ten years and you'll be fine. The last 3 sites I was involved in were new domains and were indexed and ranked in the usual amount of time.

You'll start getting steady traffic from Google and MSN in a little over 30 days. Don't hold your breath for Yahoo. I've used this method for 4 different websites and all were a success. of course, it depends on how Savvy your competition as well. In the next 10 months or so (depending on how many pages you have) you will see a steady increase in traffic. When your site is 12 months old, you will see your fate.

    LOL.
It works very very well, it's just there are a few rules to follow first.
I did it as an experiment last year and outranked a major player within 3 months. All textbook stuff.
I bought a 7 year old a few months ago, didn't follow the rules and it is kicked out to play! I was sloppy.
