Here is the thread and the owner.

He paid me for the first contest. I was really happy and participated in the 2nd one. He told me that his site was sold to someone and will request their adminstration to pay all the prizes via Paypal when he attends the board meeting.

Sadly, even after 2 months, the money isn't recieved. My pm's were all in vain.

I sent him a PM now and updated the thread, thinking he may pay.

Is there something I can do? :( Need your help really.

Unfortunately online business is plagued with rippers and scammers, and people who are flakes.

There isn't really much of anything you can do, other then waste your time trying to track them down to get your money. At least in this case you didn't lose any money.

Did you check his iTrader, Post count, Reputation, & length of stay here before engaged in business with him? Probably not.

Maldives, he paid me for the 1st contest so I joined for the 2nd one and he scammed me.

Infact when the contest got over, he sent me an Itrader rating for this contest before the prize was even sent.

His thread says that his sponsors left him holding the bag, however, I would think that he should stand good for the contest by paying from his own pocket. Right?

What would you do if you were him?

To keep the deal clean he should honor payments on his own if sponsors went dead. Or his business is on a wrong track. You can't always rely on a side company and not have any financial backups for situations like this, otherwise losing trust is a step away.

If the contest ended and you were announced a winner before sponsorship matters went wrong then you are entitled to get your prize, while raising the funds for that is the contest owner's business, that's what I think.

Well I agree with you that contest holder should clear payments even he lost his sponser. Because it also cost your reputation if you failed to clear payments,.

Hey! I did pay this out of my own pocket! All of it. Charley? Why are you letting this go unaddressed? that payment was made months and months ago?
