I wanna be a editor of dmoz. what do i need to apply? how to write application right? how to avoid some common mistake? thanks.
If you plan on editing in an English category, the first thing you might want to practice is complete sentences and proper grammar. If English is your second language (I'm guessing it is) you may want to apply for a category you're interested in and in the language you speak.
Hey i managed to sneak in once papadave, but they got me for running my own Resource zone for dmoz fans . My finglish is very pooor.
Apply to a very small category listed in the continent, country, or city that you have some knowledge about. I was denied because I applied for the FOOD category (it's huge), big categories are not good to start out in.
This is from the official site of dmoz!!!! http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/showthread.php?p=241531#post241531 Thanks for looking that up for me. I doudle checked that email and all it is, is a guideline for picking sites. I dont remember the exact category I applied for, Sorry, I believe it was Top: Regional: North America: United States: New York: Localities: T: Tarrytown the date was Apr 16. is there a way to have them resend the log-in Info? no one of he dmoz editors or friend of editors have to say anything about that???? i post a thread in the dmoz forum that they have to put a system of submition status and the deleted immediately my post!!!!why?
dmoz is gone for a couple of month now, just try to submit something, and when you push submit, just an error message is given.
resource-zone is slightly less then official... http://www.dmoz.com/help/become.html You can use Resource-Zone as a means of checking on your application status though...but other then that it's really not a part of the application (or editor) process.
becoming an editor is not an easy task. it takes forever (or it seems to) to get your application reviewed. stick at if you want to be an editor
One...Two...Three...Four...Five... I can always beat the clock anytime I like. Not anymore I'm retired. I just had to prove that the system was a failure.
of course it was - you did not bother to read the forum rules for posting at that forum before you posted.
Boy are you impatient or what tripple posts wow.. wonder how long you will stay in dmoz. Remember not to post anything -ve here at dp about dmoz or any editor, else you can kiss goodbye to dmoz. Cheers
It has nothing to do with scooby's posts here. They just keep not taking on board what they are being told as to why their site is not being listed (there is already a site listed that looks the same; has the almost the same content; and some of the same contact info). They ignored the guidelines when submitting the site (which they agreed to when submitting) and also are now complaining about their treatment at RZ after breaking the forum rules they agreed to when they joined there - anyone seeing a pattern here?
Can't disclose now paid or I have to kill you. Its TOP SECRET its a form of NATIONAL SECURITY. But martty and DPlurker knows it. <-----2 Noble Men
